The Radio Malaspina Society is a Non-Profit organization that operates CHLY 101.7FM a campus-community radio station located in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Broadcasting from the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw People, CHLY is dedicated to inform, educate, and entertain, by broadcasting inclusive, intelligent, innovative and alternative media.
The Radio Malaspina Society (RMS) is incorporated under the Societies Act of BC, and was formed specifically to apply for a radio license from the CRTC. The CRTC and Industry Canada license the Radio Malaspina Society to operate CHLY-FM as a campus-community radio station operating at 101.7 mhz with 3000 Watts ERP from a tower site located on Cottle Hill in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Our Broadcast Community.
CHLY broadcasts to approximately 1.5 million potential listeners on the Salialsh Sea. CHLY can be heard in the majority of the mid Vancanouver Island region from the Comox Valley to the Cowichan Valley. It can also be heard in parts of the northern Sunshine Coast, the whole of the southern Sunshine Coast, and parts of the lower mainland. We can also be heard on Denman, Hornby, Texada, Lesquiti, Gabriola, Mudge, Decoursy, Valdez, Galiano, Thetis, Penelakut, Saltspring Islands.
