CHLY produces local civic and community news from our broadcast community and beyond. We serve Nanaimo and the Salish Sea region, reporting on the news in Nanaimo, Lantzville, Ladysmith, Gabriola Island, Denman Island, Hornby Island, the Oceanside region, and the Comox Valley. We can also be heard in Sechelt and the Southern Sunshine Coast.
The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is working with the City of Nanaimo, and is preparing to kick off work on the Departure Bay Pump Station and Forcemain Expansion Project. The project is scheduled to take around four years to complete and will significantly affect Hammond Bay Rd, seeing the thoroughfare become unidirectional.
Nanaimo voters now have a clearer picture of who will be on the ballot this fall as the nomination period closes for candidates wanting to run in this year’s municipal election.
