Policy and Procedure Updates for Fall 2025

The Radio Malaspina Society’s Board of Directors has ratified several new and interim policies for the operation of the society and CHLY 101.7FM:

• Health and Safety Policy (Fall 2025);

• Equity and Diversity Policy (Fall 2025);

• Committee Standing Orders Policy and Procedure (Fall 2025);

• Reports Format Policy and Procedure (Fall 2025).

The board also updated it’s Membership Policy, and reaffirmed the membership rate for Community Members to be $30 for the 2026-2027 membership year. This policy was also brought in alignment with updated Membership bylaws.

• Membership Policy (Fall 2025) — Updated from 2024.

Executive Director Jesse Woodward also updated and introduced interim policy:

• Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy (Fall 2025) — Updated from 2024;

• Interim Smoke Free Work Environment Policy (Fall 2025) — New interim policy.

Per the Interim Policy and its Ratification policy, the executive director is empowered to create policy between meetings of the board of directors for their ratification. Whether or not the board ratifies the policy at their subsequent meeting, the policy is in effect until the board overturns the policy.

The board also rescinded outdated policy and the following is no longer in effect:

• Human Resources and Employment Policy (March 2020);

• Conflict Resolution Policy, Procedure, and Forms (March 2018).
