Remembering the Children – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On our station
In honour of the fifth annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR), also known as Orange Shirt Day, CHLY 101.7FM in partnership with APTN and others, will air commercial free Special Programming from 4:30PM to 6PM on Tuesday September 30th.
This special programming is Remembering the Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a 90 minute commemorative gathering, live from Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
From the APTN: Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR). It is a day for action, remembrance, reflection, and learning about the colonial history of the lands we live on. It is also an important day for residential school Survivors to share their stories and for us to remember the children who did not return home.
Broadcasting from the Traditional Territory of the Snuneymuxw, CHLY invites our audience to tune in and listen. Reflecting on the solemn day, while honouring those Survivors of residential schools, their communities, and the children who never came back.
Listeners can tune in at CHLY 101.7FM or online at chly.ca/listen.
Our station thanks the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, APTN, CBC/Radio-Canada, Canadian Heritage, and the National Campus and Community Radio Association for bringing us this special opportunity to honour this day.
