News Updates from CHLY with Spencer Medford.
Your last chance to win day-passes for the Vancouver Island MusicFest from CHLY 101.7FM!
Have you been hearing our new 3-minute news updates?
About a month or so ago, Spencer Medford applied to be a volunteer at CHLY. It took a little bit of time for us to follow up with him, but as it turns out, it was probably one of the smartest things we could have done.
Cassandra B. on why you should support CHLY.
It's your last chance to win tickets to the Vancouver Island Music Festival in the Comox Valley! Enter to win by signing up for a $5+/month Sustaining Donation to CHLY 101.7FM. As part of CHLY’s Listener Un-Drive, we have two pairs of complimentary day passes to give away, so your chances are pretty decent, and you support CHLY 101.7FM in doing so!
Donors get an entry in the draw for every $5/month they donate, so someone signing up for $10/month would get two entries. If you’re a current Sustaining Donor, you are automatically entered to win!
Planning for the future of CHLY...
“Hey there friends. This is Cassandra Blondin-Burt speaking to you from Gabriola Island. I'm here to thank listeners from Nanaimo and around the world for tuning into CHLY 101.7fm and CHLY.ca. It is because of the support of people like you that stations like this can continue to broadcast local relevant content, giving a voice to our community, and letting us better know each other, real-life content that isn't marred by too much advertisement, and giving us what mass media can't. Events and stories in our every day lives. So let's keep on tuning in and sending support, so they can keep doing what they do best, giving us content as evolving and dynamic as our island community continues to be.”

Register your youth(s) for our first Summer Radio Camp for kids!
I really can’t stress this enough—we are listener supported. We don’t lean hard as much as we could on advertising—which I am sure is appreciated—we certainly don’t lean on corporate advertising to pay the bills at the station.
Today we have about 800 or so people on our mailing list who get these emails. Some are current sustaining donors, some are past donors, but most are people who haven’t supported us yet with a small monthly donation.
Meet our Summer Station Assistant, Kaylie Russell.

Fall Fund Drive 2017.
Hello Listeners. On April the 24th, I was offered by the Board of Directors of the Radio Malaspina Society a position with CHLY 101.7FM as Executive Coordinator. I have accepted this position and have resigned from the board as its President. While I will miss my former role, I am incredibly excited about my new role moving forward.
Spring Fund Drive 2017.
We're aiming once again to raise $20,000 for the year of 2017. Starting from where we left off with the Spring Fund Drive around $10,000, we only need to raise another $10,000+ to succeed in that goal!
Welcome To The New CHLY Website!
It's that time of year again for CHLY 101.7FM, our annual on-air spring fund drive.
It finally happened.
We got the website updated and online with our new logo, and our new donation system in place. Not everything is up yet, but we will see new sections rolled out in the next few months. Do you have questions on constructive comments? Shoot us some feedback in the comments below.
Thanks to everybody who works so hard for CHLY.
